Bankers Graduate from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado
Peoples Bank is proud to announce two of their Bankers have graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC). Peoples Bank Community President Charlie Wooten, Jr. and Financial Officer Chris Bornheimer completed the intensive 25-month banking school that provides senior management and leadership training for community banking professionals. The School is held each summer on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Both Wooten and Bornheimer have been recognized by CEO Wint Winter, Jr. as rising stars within the organization. Graduation from the School is a significant accomplishment in the banking and financial services industry.
Students receive a diploma upon successfully completing six weeks of classroom training focusing on the areas of General Management, Lending, Leadership and Human Resource Management, and Financial Management. Requirements also include comprehensive examinations, intersession research projects, and participation in a bank management simulation course designed to provide the banker/student with experience in managing a bank.
Wooten and Bornheimer were among 138 graduates of the 58th Annual School Session which was held July 13 through July 25, 2008 at GSBC. Bornheimer received special recognition as a 2008 Honor Student.

Catherine Casey Joins the Peoples Bank Team
Peoples Bank in Ottawa is pleased to announce that Catherine Crockett Casey has joined its team as a Business Relationship Officer. She will be responsible for developing banking relationships including cultivating and managing commercial banking relationships and helping businesses reach their financial goals.
Prior to working at Peoples Bank Casey worked at Brotherhood Bank as a Vice President in Small Business Lending. She was born and raised in Ottawa and graduated from Ottawa High School. She went on to earn her BA in Business and Management from Ottawa University. She is an active volunteer in the Franklin County community and served as an officer and a member of the Board of Trustees for City-Wide Development Company.

Phil Hudson Named Chairman of the Board for Peoples Bank
Phillip F. “Phil” Hudson of Salt Lake City has been named Chairman of the Board of Peoples Bank. Hudson is President and CEO of Aspen Consulting Group, Inc., a Salt Lake City, Utah based consulting firm providing marketing and sales assistance to Community and Regional Banks in the United States. A graduate of Syracuse University, Hudson is well known in the financial community, Immediately prior to his current position, he served 16 years as Executive Vice President and Director of Retail Banking and Marketing for First Security Corporation, who operated 315 branches in Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, California and Utah prior to merging with Wells Fargo Bank in the fall of 2000.
Peoples Bank leader Wint Winter of Ottawa, Kansas continues to serve as Chairman Emeritus. The bank has been owned by the Winter family since 1974.

The third Peoples Bank location in Lawrence, Kansas opened recently on the northwest corner of 31st and Iowa. Peoples Bank Shreds over 6 tons of Sensitive Documents
In the past month, Peoples Bank hosted three ‘Shredfest’ events across northeast Kansas. Shredfest allows the public to bring their sensitive documents, discs, papers, etc. to be shredded and ultimately recycled, all at no charge. These events were held in Lawrence, Ottawa and Louisburg, KS. All together, more than six tons of material was shredded and head to be recycled.
More than 300 people took advantage of their local Shredfest event to protect their identity while recycling to help save the environment.

Peoples Bank Raises over $2,000 to Benefit Victims of Recent Flooding
The bankers at Peoples Bank gathered resources from Guests and the general public during the month of July to benefit the victims of the recent flooding across Kansas. With a $1,000 lead-gift from Peoples Bank, the donations amounted to $2,169.42.
In addition to the monetary contributions, Peoples Bank dedicated numerous hours to assist in the physical clean up of Oswatamie County. Peoples Bank CEO/ President, Wint Winter, Jr. traveled to Miami County to clean up the distruction left in the wake of the flooding.

Peoples Bank Donates $11,933.29 to American Red Cross for Greensburg, Kansas Disaster Relief
Peoples Bank announced it has raised a total of $11,933.29 in donations for the American Red Cross to help with the relief from the Greensburg, Kansas storm disaster. All nine Peoples Bank locations across Kansas accepted donations from Guests and the general public during the month of May. Included in the final total was a $2,500 contribution from Peoples Bank.

Kijowski Named One of Kansas City's Best Personal Wealth Managers
Michael Kijowski, Wealth Management Officer, for Peoples Bank Overland Park was named one of Kansas City's Five Star Wealth Managers in KC Magazine.
Surveys were sent to 31,000 high-net worth residents in the Kansas City area to evaluate their wealth management officer. The survey focused on nine areas: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction.
Kijowski was one of 228 to be named a Five Star Wealth Manager, representing less than three percent of Wealth Management officers in the Kansas City area.
Kijowski, an Abilene, Kan., native, has over a decade of financial services and banking experience. He joined Peoples Bank in February 2005.

In honor of the grand opening of a new building in Stanley, Peoples Bank of Overland Park recently donated $500 to Sunflower House. Sunflower House works to enhance the lives of at-risk children in Johnson and Wyandotte County. Peoples donated $10 for each new account opened during the week of Dec. 4, 2006.
