You could say Scott began his banking career in junior high school by cleaning a bank in Hugo, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school he moved to Tulsa and worked as a bank teller while attending college. Scott earned a BBA in Finance from Cameron University. He then moved to New Mexico with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as an examiner in 1989, and five years later he was hired as the Cashier at Grants State Bank in Grants, NM. During this time, he attended the Anderson School of Management at University of New Mexico to obtain an MBA. Scott has been with Peoples Bank since 2003.
He currently serves on several committees of the Taos Community Foundation, and was the Chairman of the Taos County Chamber of Commerce. He assists the Community Against Violence in policy development, serves as a Taos Hockey Association Coach, and has previously served as a Taos High School Football Coach, member of the Holy Cross Hospital Foundation Board and is Chief of the Pot Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
